PHOTOGRAPHS and Floor Plans at bottom of this page. Sant'Andrea is a well restored ex-presbytery villa in Tuscany Italy, originally built beginning in the 11th Century. The property consists of seven very private acres of olive groves and fruit trees nestled in the ruins of the church of Sant'Andrea and the ruins of the 12th Century leper's hospital for women. The villa near Cortona was formerly the living quarters for the priests attending to the church and to the lepers and the stables of the animals oxen and horses. Furnished graciously with antiques, antique reproductions, oriental rugs, and original oil paintings, and luxury bedding, Sant' Andrea reflects the integrity and serenity of the surroundings. The spacious home is rented fully furnished on a weekly basis (from Saturday to Saturday). Rental of the luxury Villa includes our Guest House that is newly constructed in antique fashion. The ceilings of the Villa and the Guest House are hand made terra cotta bricks supported by hand hewn chestnut logs, and the floors are (mostly) antique terra cotta tile floors draped in oriental carpets. Four antique fireplaces adorn the Villa along with an antique wood burning oven and hand hewn stone carved sink, all in functioning order. Sant'Andrea will sleep up to 16 persons, including the Villa and also the "Guest House". However, we recommend that for your utmost comfort not to place more than 10 adults with the remainder of the persons being children. Bedrooms: 1 king-bedded room with antique fireplace and private bath; 1 queen-bedded suite (connected to full bathroom) and separte area with daybed and trundle (both beds are regular American twin beds); 1 queen-bedded loft suite also with 1 single bed on the upper level and one double bed on the lower level (connected to bathroom); 1 king bedded room (two American twins that can be separated when necessary); 1 double-bedded room; 4 full bathrooms each with shower (3 upstairs 1 downstairs) 1 spacious formal living room 1 large formal dining room with antique fireplace (table seats up to 16); 1 large casual living area with queen sleeper sofa and game table (TV, VCR, DVD, stereo with CD, computer with internet access). 2 Kitchens: Main kitchen including professional Majestic gas stove, electric oven, full size refrigerator, dishwasher, washer, dryer, small appliances, cookware, dishware, silverware, glassware, and utensils; 1 breakfast area with functional antique fireplace and carved stone sink (at Main Kitchen with TV, VCR); Portico kitchen including gas stove, electric oven, half size refrigerator, dishwasher, washer/dryer combination, large functional antique wood burning oven, small appliances, dishware, glassware, cookware, silverware, and utensils 1 large casual dining area (Portico) 2 TV's, 2 VCR's 3 Telephones, Linens Baby crib also available.
